Let a beginner handle the actual set before purchasing if a local demonstration is available. Decorative artwork can be enjoyable, but unfamiliar symbols may add a second learning task. Ask the player to name a mixed selection of tiles rather than judging recognition from a carefully arranged photograph.

Prepare a responsible beginner bundle

List the tiles and accessories explicitly. Explain whether the current annual card is supplied separately, and provide a legitimate learning link. A basic tile legend can identify custom artwork, while a contents sheet helps the buyer separate extras from playing pieces. For clubs, keep one reset list per kit. Avoid promising that an included booklet covers every rule or every annual edition.

From learner questions to a wholesale brief

If your customers are teachers, ask how many identical setups they need, how they store equipment and what causes confusion during lessons. Specify legible artwork, repeatable inventories and a practical packed case. When they are retailers, provide short product explanations that can be reused accurately. Record feedback after trial sessions before committing to a broader color assortment.
